Congratulations CMTA Music Festival Participants

The following students played for two piano judges or two violin judges on Saturday, February 20th, in Charlottesville. Constructive comments and ratings were given to each student. There were nearly 260 students from 35 teachers who participated in the Festival. It was a busy, rewarding, and exciting day.
Violins: Chris Burg, Suzanna Burkholder, John Dukes, Max Elkins, Jennifer Holder, Alex Manchester, Nathaniel Marion, Krista Plogger, and Emily Ward.
Pianists: Libby Burg, Sarah Ward, and Lexi Weeks
Special thanks to Suzanna and Julie Burkholder who worked all day as runners

MTNA Achievement Award Goals

Parents, please check with your students to see if they are following through with the goals they themselves have set for the year.  Some are supposed to be reading books on music, listening to CD’s, playing at senior citizen’s homes, attending concerts, etc.  Time is running out.

National Guild of Piano Teachers Piano Auditions

Guild auditions are coming on May 8th.  Waynesboro students will again be allowed to play for this event at the Main Street United Methodist Church.    This is the month your registration fee will appear on your statement for those participating.  Only pianists can do the Guild auditions.

String Class/Performance Class March 6th , 9:30 and 11:00

The value of attending these classes was very evident at the Festival.  The Waynesboro students had a high level of poise and confidence and projected their pieces well because they had been in the spotlight before and they were also well prepared musically.  Please plan to attend.

Snow Day Make Ups

My records show make ups due to Ben and Ricky for 2/2, Causey and Henry for 2/5, and Chris for 2/10.  If you should also be on that list,  please let me know.  Also, remind me to get you scheduled.  One snow day make up given per year.
